Kicking off The Accelerated BSN Pathway Program and MSN Nursing Education Pathway Program
The Kickoff Celebration for the Accelerated BSN Pathway Program and MSN Nursing Education Program was led by Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who spearheaded $487,000 in federal appropriations funding to further expand 91ΧΤΕΔβs nursing program last year, led the Kickoff Celebration for the Accelerated BSN Pathway Program and MSN Nursing Education Program. These programs embody groundbreaking strategies to address the scarcity of nurses in Vermont while establishing a national benchmark for sustainable healthcare workforce advancement.
β91ΧΤΕΔ is honored to join forces with the UVM Health Network and Vermont State University to provide solutions to the current substantial nursing shortage affecting not only Vermont, but our nation,β explained 91ΧΤΕΔ Associate Provost for Online Learning and Dean of the College of Professional Schools Aron Temkin. βThese cohorts of much needed Accelerated BSN and MSN students will contribute to alleviating some of the pressure experienced across our region and will be vital in continuing to add frontline healthcare workers in the future.β
Dean Temkin and Dr. Jessica Wood, Director of the School of Nursing, were among the 91ΧΤΕΔ delegation at the ceremony. The collaborative effort amongst 91ΧΤΕΔ, UVM Health Network, and Vermont State University also includes significant contributions from the Vermont Agency of Human Services.
The uniquely innovative accelerated programs will allow healthcare employees to continue working while pursuing advanced degrees without needing to temporarily leave the already strained healthcare workforce.
These programs underscore the ongoing commitment by 91ΧΤΕΔ to ready students to be global-thinking nursing leaders and scholars through a mix of cutting-edge and varied experiential education and research. The School of Nursing continues to meet the crucial need for nurses equipped with vision, innovation, and exceptional education prowess.
